Good morning world. I am just sitting here with my coffee, doing my usual routine of checking the email, the websites and making sure that nothing fell apart while I tossed and turned. I received and deleted the usual basket of spam...yeah, I just threw away all of those offers for pre-qualified credit cards, payday loans and even a couple from military personnel, asking me to help them smuggle millions of dollars out of Iraq! Now that on I just don't get. Do I have a "stupid" sign on my email addy or what? Send them a copy of my driver's license? No, sorry, don't think so. I have never been Pro-government and at times have even been considered to be "anti-establishment" in my beliefs, but stupid I am not. Sorry guys, you'll just have to stuff those millions in your duffle bags on the trip home.
Not that I couldn't use it.
But at least, according to BOA this morning, nothing has bounced.
Don't ya like the fairy picture? Now, don't get me wrong, I consider myself a christian and have always been taught that mystical and magical things were a no no. I just think the fairies are pretty and you never see a sick fairie. So, I like them. So send me to hell. You never see a freakin fairy with fibro. They are always fluttering around all happy and stuff.
Speaking of the green monster of fibro...I think I have a cold so it is difficult to tell where it stops and the fibro begins this morning. I woke up at 0300 sick and haven't slept alot. I had trouble last night because it seemed that everytime I would fall asleep for a while and stay in the same position, I would wake up kinda froze in that position, too stiff to change into another without stabbing pain. I think that aspect of my illness is getting worse because that seems to happen more than it used to. I don't think the Lyrica is helping that much, even though Dr. Harney doubled the dosage my last visit. I thought it was supposed to be this new miracle drug for fibro -NOT! At least not for me it seems. I guess some would suggest that it has to get into my system or we have to adjust the dosage to get it right first, but you would think I would be able to tell that I am taking it at least.
Since I will be referring to my meds in this blog alot, I suppose I should make a note of what all I am presently taking:
1- Methadone 5mg tablets: two tablets, three times a day. (It was substituted for Fentanyl patches because they were $254.00 and the methadone is $15.00)
2. Lyrica 75 mg: one capsule, twice a day
3. Verapamil 120mg tab: once a day
4. Hydrocodone/APAP 10mg/500mg : one tablet every six hours
5. Clonazepam 1mg tablet: one tablet every 12 hours or as needed
6. Aricept 5 mg tablet: once a day
Well, that's the present list. Please bear in mind that over the years as my pain and symptoms worsened I have had to change meds. I started out on Neurontin for pain. The dose was doubled, then tripled until finally the MD changed me to Hydrocodone 5mg. It was changed to 10mg and then gradually, it didn't control the pain at all. Finally the pain specialist put me on the Fentanyl patch, which controlled the pain as long as the patch stayed on but it cost too much and I couldn't afford to get it filled. My neurologist prescribed the Methadone as a sub for the Fentanyl and it works as long as I do not miss a dose or allow the pain to return before taking my next dose. I am sure I sound like some kind of drugee but I have to say that without the methadone the pain is so great that I cannot bear it. (I mean, the kind of pain that makes you want to put your 380 to your head and pull the trigger!) I will admit that there have been times when I have actually done that but didn't have the nerve. I wonder what meds other fibro patients take and hopefully someday the website will take off and the forum will be full of others like me, posting about their experience with fibro.
I plan to put the vitamins I take on here too but that list is long and distinguished so I will save it for another day.
Well, that's it for today unless I become inspired. Thanks for reading and keep up the good fight.
